Copycat Magazine Ad

The goal of the Photoshop Copycat Magazine ad assignment was about being able to match colors, fonts, typography, leading, kerning, logo placement, special effects, scale, proportion and many other features based on an original ad given to me by my teacher. Using an E-Scale to determine font sizes and other tools I had to directly copy my ad to the original, but make it different in my own way.

Below is the ad I copied, given to me by my teacher. Both the Nike logo and Nike swoosh were used with permission from sleeklogo.com. The Nike Shoes were used with permission from Barrett Ward on UnSplash.com and all other images used were used with permission from Logan Weaver on UnSplash.com
The image below shows how I added a mask to the text by laying out how I wanted the words to look then adding the image of the basketball court and making it a mask over the text. Making the words not just a plain white color but rather the image of the basketball court behind it.
Below shows the after of me tracing one of the Nike shoes from the bottom of the ad, and adding the text elements as well as the other pencil lines throughout the whole ad to create the show outline.
Below is the layers for the Photoshop assignment to verify that I imported the images correctly, added all effects, drawings, masks, and anything else myself.
